I created this artwork for rap artist Marathon Man for his forthcoming album ‘Til All Are One. He wanted the cover to draw influence from the poster for the 1986 animated film Transformers: The Movie, so the colors are heavily influenced by that. I pitched the idea of featuring a Sci-Fi-style cityscape inspired by the artwork for the Earth, Wind & Fire album All ‘n All. He was on board with this concept, so I began compiling photographs from some of my travels. The dramatic sky is from a trip to Jamaica, the mountains and setting sun is from Las Vegas, the skyscrapers are from Dallas, and the observation tower is from a miniature train attraction in my hometown of Cincinnati called Entertrainment Junction that I visited with my toddler son. I used Photoshop to integrate all of the images, and bring the vision to life that I had in my mind. We were both very excited about how it all came together.
