This is an illustration of Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler that highlights his many eccentricities. He is a big fan of country music, which is why I dressed him in a western shirt, jeans, and cowboy boots. The coffee cup in his hand pays tribute to his extraordinary performance during the 2020 NBA Bubble that took place at Walt Disney World due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Butler made headlines on the court by leading the Heat to the NBA Finals, but he also garnered attention by selling coffee from his hotel room. He offered various coffees such as lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, macchiatos, and more. Each cup sold for $20, no matter the size. A photo of a dry erase board that displayed his menu went viral online, with “CASH ONLY” and “NO I.O.U.’s” written largely next to his coffee offerings. This was the humble beginnings of his coffee and apparel business called Big Face Brand.

Unfortunately, Butler and the Miami Heat fell short in The Finals against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. As an ardent Miami Heat fan, I’d be remiss not to mention that their two other best players suffered injuries in Game 1 of the series. All Star center Bam Adebayo exited the game with a strained neck, and starting point guard Goran Dragić tore his left plantar fascia. Adebayo was the Heat’s defensive anchor and most athletic player, and Dragić was their leading scorer throughout the playoffs. Adebayo would miss Game 2 and Dragić remained out until Game 6, appearing hampered by his foot injury upon his return. The Heat fell to a 3-1 deficit in the series, but managed to stave off elimination in Game 5 on the back of Butler’s 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists.
